Dawayer is a pioneering initiative at the heart of Sohag Governorate, dedicated to promoting sustainable rural tourism through women's economic empowerment.

Our Story

This development initiative is implemented by CIDEAL Foundation for Cooperation and Research and the Association for Women's Total Advancement and Development (AWTAD), with the financial support of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID). The initiative provides training, mentoring, and tailored support to women entrepreneurs in Sohag, unlocking local potential and promoting inclusive, community-based tourism. By combining entrepreneurship, gender equality, and territorial development, Dawayer fosters sustainable economic alternatives and long-term empowerment for women and youth.

To develop an inclusive and sustainable model of rural tourism that drives local economic growth and strengthens community cohesion. Dawayer promotes innovative strategies to catalyse lasting transformation and support women-led initiatives across the region.
